If you had told me years ago that I would eventually make a living doing astrology and intuitive readings, I probably would have told you that you were nuts. LOL.

I originally worked in banking. Astrology, psychic work, and helping people through some of the most personal moments of their lives were definitely not part of the career plan.

But life had other plans.

For those who know astrology, I have an exact Sun–Venus cazimi at 19°51’ Aries in my 8th house, with Chiron nearby. Looking back now, that symbolism makes a lot more sense to me than it did when I was younger.

The Year Everything Changed

Around 2000, during my first Saturn Return, my life completely changed.

I went through a divorce. I moved. I lost my job. And then I found out that I had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke.

I had very few lasting symptoms, which amazed the doctors considering where the bleed had occurred. At the time, all I really understood was this:

Life is incredibly precious.

That experience made me seriously reexamine where I was going, what mattered to me, and what I wanted to do with the time I had.

And then something else began happening.

I started having experiences I could not easily explain.

My First Experience With the Other Side

A few months after learning about my stroke, the father of the man I was dating at the time died unexpectedly in Greece.

I had never met his father.

About a week later, I was lying in bed when I became aware of a man standing in the room. I could move my eyes but not my body. Strangely, I felt calm.

The man had white hair, tan skin, and was wearing a blue-and-green checkered shirt. He repeatedly moved toward a particular drawer in the room. Eventually he came very close to me and then seemed to disappear into the wall.

When I was able to move again, I told my boyfriend that I believed I had seen someone who had passed away.

I described the man.

His face went white.

He went to the closet, pulled out a blue-and-green checkered shirt and asked, “Is this what he was wearing?”

It was.

Then he showed me a recent photograph of his father.

It was the same man.

He explained that his father had told him that if anything ever happened to him, the family home in Greece should be sold — and the documents for that property were kept in the exact drawer I had seen the man repeatedly approaching.

That was the first experience of its kind I remember having.

It would not be the last.

It Runs in My Family

Experiences like this were not completely foreign in my family.

My grandmother was a medium. She never did readings professionally, but she was extremely open about the people and things she believed she saw. My father was uncomfortable with it and used to tell us not to listen because there were “no such things as ghosts.”

As kids, of course, that only gave us more questions. 😄

There were intuitive experiences on my mother’s side of the family as well. My mother experienced powerful premonition dreams and sometimes seemed to know when someone she loved was sick, in trouble, or in danger.

One experience from my childhood has stayed with me my entire life.

On May 12, 1985, my cousin was visiting and we wanted to go outside and play. My mother wouldn’t let us. She had awakened extremely upset after having a vivid experience involving someone in our family being hurt or shot.

Being a kid, I thought she was being ridiculous. I just wanted to go outside.

Later that day, my aunt arrived crying.

Her son Bobby had been found shot in his home that morning.

My mother said the timing matched when she had awakened from the experience.

After that day, when my mother said, “I have a feeling about something,” I listened.

Loss Changed Everything Again

Over a relatively short period of time, I experienced tremendous loss.

I lost my grandmother. Shortly afterward, my father died after battling ALS. Then in 2008, I unexpectedly lost my mother.

After losing so many of the people I loved, the intuitive experiences became much more frequent for me. At times I didn’t know what to do with them.

I actually sought spiritual guidance because I needed help understanding what I was experiencing and how to manage it.

Around that time I met my friend Tracy, who had similar experiences. Her friendship helped me tremendously. She helped me become less frightened by what was happening and learn how to work with it rather than feeling overwhelmed by it.

How This Became My Career

In 2008, Tracy said something to me that sounded completely ridiculous at the time:

“You should do this professionally.”

I thought she was crazy.

But eventually I thought, What the heck? I’ll try it.

I started working part-time as an advisor on Keen.

What began as an experiment eventually became my career.

Over the years, I began combining intuitive information with something else I had become increasingly passionate about:

Astrology.

Astrology gave me another language for understanding timing, relationships, personality patterns, compatibility, major life transitions, and the pieces of information I was intuitively picking up.

It became one of the most important tools in my work.

The Solar Return That Changed My Life

Then in 2015, astrology became deeply personal for me.

I was studying my Solar Return — the chart calculated for the exact return of the Sun to its natal position each year.

When I interpreted that chart, I believed it showed an unexpected heart issue that could potentially be fatal.

It scared me.

I had no symptoms.

But because my mother had died suddenly from a massive heart attack, I went to my doctor and asked for an echocardiogram.

Initially, I was told that I was relatively young, had no symptoms, and didn’t appear to need the test.

I pushed for it anyway.

The echocardiogram discovered a serious cardiac tumor.

I was scheduled for open-heart surgery immediately.

Afterward, my surgeon asked what symptoms had caused me to seek testing.

I told him I hadn’t had any.

I explained why I had pushed for the echocardiogram.

I was told that finding the tumor when we did was extraordinarily fortunate and that pushing for the test had saved my life.

That experience profoundly changed the way I looked at astrology, intuition, and advocating for your own health.

Astrology can be a tool to help medicine, not in lieu of medicine. When you understand the planets, signs, houses, and the parts of the body they traditionally rule, a Solar Return can sometimes offer clues about what areas of health may need closer attention during a particular year. In my own chart, I saw strong indicators involving the heart and believed that something significant could occur around that Solar Return year. Because of that, I pushed for an echocardiogram even though I had no symptoms and initially had to fight to get the test ordered. The echocardiogram found a serious heart tumor and led to immediate surgery. In my case, my knowledge of astrology prompted me to seek medical attention and testing I otherwise might not have pursued — and that intervention saved my life.

What I Do Today

Today, I use astrology, tarot, intuition, and years of professional experience to help clients better understand relationships, timing, compatibility, personal patterns, and major turning points in their lives.

Relationships became one of my biggest specialties because so many of the people who came to me were trying to understand love, commitment, breakups, reconciliation, compatibility, and why the same relationship patterns kept repeating.

My goal is not to make your decisions for you.

It’s to give you information, perspective, and clarity so you can make better decisions for yourself.

I’m still fascinated by astrology all these years later — and I’m still learning.

That’s probably one of the things I love most about it.

There is always another layer.

I am sorry for the things I never said or did.
